If you are aware of how you are feeling, it is easy to take the feeling and put it away. For instance, when someone gets on the bus and sits beside me and listens to their headphones really loudly. It annoys me. I realize that I am annoyed-my body tenses up and my brain gets flooded with adrenaline. I know that there is nothing that I can do to make other people more thoughtful of others. I take deep breaths and calm myself. It is okay to feel angry about things, but it is not okay to let the feeling rule my day. Feel the emotion. Acknowledge the emotion. Let go of the emotion.
